How to Create Bibliographies in Latex
If you want to use Latex to create a list of references at the end of your paper, you need to do the following:
-
Create a file called "paper.bib" containing the bibtex entries (which you can obtain by cut-and-paste from Google Scholar results. Just follow the "Cite" Link at the bottom of the paper description returned by Google Scholar. Then follow the link at the botton left "Import into BibTex". An example paper.bib file is paper.bib. Use "View -> Source" in your browser if the display is not formatted.
-
Add the following two lines just before the \end{document} tag in your paper.tex file:
\bibliographystyle{abbrv}
\bibliography{paper}
-
Put the following files into a single directory called "paper"
paper.tex you can get an example here.
paper.bib
llnc.cls which you can get here Notes: 1) Use "View -> Source" in your browser if the display is not formatted. 2)Use the acmsurveys .cls file for your survey.
-
Issue the following commands in the "paper" directory. Correct the paper after each command if there is a problem.
latex paper
